Malaysian actress Deanna Yusoff says playing King Mongkut's first wife in Anna and the King was a learning experience - but not one she wants to repeat in real life.
She says her character, Lady Tiang, had to accept that there were other women in her husband's life.
'This was how it was and it was accepted,' she says. 'I will not share my husband with anyone. I respect religious beliefs and culture but will not live that way.' Being on the set of Anna and the King was an overwhelming experience.
'The amount of time and money that was spent on the production is amazing,' she says.
But as lavish as it was, Deanna prefers the intimacy of a smaller production or the theatre.
'Coming from a theatre background, I didn't feel I was in touch with the audience,' says Deanna, who grew up in Switzerland and whose mother is Swiss.
