A bride is seeking damages from a beauty salon, claiming its treatment almost ruined her big day.
Lee Jin filed a writ yesterday claiming a $6,200 refund from the Modern Beauty Salon. She paid $10,000 in advance for a package of 50 facial treatments. She alleges that after the 19th visit her eyes swelled and forced her to postpone the wedding photo session.
Another claimant, bride-to-be Wong Ka-yan, appeared in the Small Claims Tribunal yesterday to claim back a package fee of $2,910 from a different branch of the same salon after her back was allegedly injured during a massage.
Ms Lee married in September and Ms Wong is going to marry this year.
Ms Wong alleged her back was red and painful after the first massage of a package of 20 on December 16, and that night she needed to go to a hospital emergency unit for help.
The salon denied her injuries were caused by the massage and refused to refund any money. Ms Wong wants her $2,910 advance payment returned.
