Giveaway fares to Singapore

Sixty-six lucky lovers will be flown to Singapore for only $99 per couple by United Airlines to celebrate Valentine's Day. Call the UA reservations number at 8.08am on February 14, and the first 33 who get through will be entitled to two tickets. They will be able to fly to the Lion City on the daily service which will be launched on February 16. Winners will immediately receive an e-ticket booking which will allow travel before March 31. Explaining why the airline decided on 66 tickets, Mr Jeremy Hilburn, UA sales manager, said: 'The numbers three, six and nine are all linked to 'eternity' in Chinese, so we paired them up and made the offer open to 33 couples, that's 66 people, for $99.' The Oriental experience The award-winning Oriental Bangkok will offer an 'Oriental Experience 2000' package between April 1 and September 30. The package includes three nights in a Superior River Wing room, daily American breakfast, limousine round-trip airport transfers, set dinner or buffet BBQ, a full day excursion on board the Oriental Queen cruiser along the Chao Phraya River to the ancient capital of Ayudhaya, and late check-out to 6pm. The package costs US$530 ($4,100) single, US$640 double or US$780 triple.

Saddle up for a bush trek Concorde Travel specialises in off-beat package tours, and a six-day horseback trek in the Australian bush is one of its latest deals. Participants will stay in old bush pubs and horses are matched to the rider's skill. The riding will be through rugged countryside, across gentle creeks and along quiet country lanes, says Concorde. Stopover hotel offer Emirates Airline passengers are being offered stopovers in 15 of that airline's destinations from as little as US$21 (about $163) per person. Accommodation is available at 49 hotels in London, Frankfurt, Munich, Melbourne Johannesburg, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bangkok, Colombo, Delhi, Jeddah, Kuala Lumpur, Istanbul, Nairobi and Zurich.

The offer will be available until September 30, and the maximum stay at the stopover price is two nights. Accommodation must be taken immediately on arrival and rates are on a twin-sharing basis.

Cheaper weekends in China Bass Hotels and Resorts are running a 'Weekend Innovations' promotion until June 30 at Holiday Inn hotels in China. Eighteen hotels are participating, and the special rates apply to Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Rates are from 488 yuan a night (about HK$450) to 788 yuan. Fly Concorde in Thailand Thailand's first Concorde supersonic flight is being organised by the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, February 23. The flight will be over the Gulf of Siam.
