A campaign encouraging secondary school students to write letters to raise their social awareness has received a promising response.
Organisers say it could serve as a model project for schools across the territory.
The fortnightly letters contain encouragement to those less fortunate than themselves, praise distinguished people for their good work and suggest changes in government or organisational policies.
The campaign was launched in September by the Chinese University's Institute of Education.
At least $300,000 has been pumped into the project by the Quality Education Fund following the Government's aim to improve students' standards.
More than 100 sixth-formers from four schools have already taken part in language training courses and discussion forums. An exhibition of the campaign's results will be staged in October.
