HEWLETT-Packard (HP) has promoted Mr Lee Ting to chairman and managing director of Hewlett-Packard Asia-Pacific. He will be responsible for the company's operations in Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Hongkong, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, India, Australia and New Zealand. Mr Ting will be located at HP's Asia-Pacific headquarters at Lippo Centre in Hongkong. He succeeds Mr Alan Bickell, who was promoted to senior vice-president and managing director of HP's Worldwide Geographic Operations last year. EDS Electronic Data Systems (Asia-Pacific) has appointed Mr Roy Frederickson as managing director Telecom. Mr Frederickson will head EDS' Communications Industry Division, responsible for developing the company's telecommunications business in the Asia-Pacific region. He first joined EDS in 1985 as a systems engineer. The firm has also appointed Mr Jerry Ha as president of China Management Systems Corp, a four-year-old joint-venture information technology company formed by EDS and a Republic of China conglomerate, the China Trust Group. China Management Systems (CMS) specialises in the transfer of information technology, taking EDS' products and introducing them quickly to users in Taiwan. HAYES Microcomputer Products has appointed Mr Andy Ng as its new general manager for its Asia-Pacific regional headquarters. Mr Ng will be responsible for all Hayes' sales, distribution and marketing in the Asian, Australian, and Pacific Rim market. His aim is to increase profitable growth for all Hayes' sales, distribution, marketing, customer service, product support and general business activities in the region.
