No plea was taken in District Court from Paul Varty, 38, who faces two counts of conspiracy to defraud and three of false accounting.
He was accused of having conspired with David Lee Chai-ve, former vice-president of the Bank of America, to defraud the bank by dishonestly arranging for the bank to pay $721,250 to Chesterton Petty Ltd.
The money was purported to be estate agent fees owed to Chesterton Petty.
Judge Hawkes adjourned the case to Monday.
