Topaz House outshine Sapphire to scoop overall championship at athletic meet

About 730 athletes solemnly took the competitors' oath for Hong Kong Chinese Women's Club College's annual athletic meet at Siu Sai Wan Sports Ground recently.

In her opening speech, principal Wong Sze Lo-sai stressed the importance of sportsmanship.

Despite the cold weather, ath letes competed to the best of their abilities. Two bright stars were discovered in the boys' Grade B event. Choi Yuk-lam of Sapphire House and Lee Wai-kin of Topaz House performed brilliantly and won loud applause from spectators.

The 4 x 100-metre and 4 x 400- metre relays were the highlights of the meet.

The graduating classes' mixed relay was also memorable for the participants. The parent- child relay on the second day was popular with the crowd. The winners were Yeung Chu-man of Form 5D and his mother.

Sapphire House dominated the first-day events but Topaz House were overall champions.
