We refer to the inquiry by Tim and Maggie Lewis, on the operational hours of the Airport Express (South China Morning, February 21).
The Airport Express operates 19 hours a day, from 6am to 1am the following day. The remaining five hours are used to carry out essential maintenance works to ensure railway efficiency and reliability. Obviously this means that there are a few flights in the morning when it is not possible to use the Airport Express.
However, most airlines are offering in-town-check-in services at the Airport Express Hong Kong and Kowloon stations one day before the scheduled flights.
We would suggest that Tim and Maggie Lewis make use of this service for their future trips.
