Group Sense International has agreed to purchase 40 per cent of medical portal Cyber-Medic for $46 million.
The company, which makes personal-electronics products, will pay for 20 per cent of Cyber-Medic by issuing 20 million new shares at $1.30 each.
It will pay $20 million for the rest of the firm within three months.

Set up in August last year, Cyber-Medic has a portal featuring a medical database for health professionals, with information on disease symptoms and drugs.
Group Sense will market its palm computers, or personal digital assistants (PDAs) to medical practitioners who can use them to access the portal while on the road.

It expects to launch wireless PDAs in the second half.
