A 38-year-old housewife was found dead with chop wounds last night as her unemployed husband and two young children lay unconscious in the family's gas-filled Wong Tai Sin flat. The man, Law Yuet-kwan, 43, was found on the kitchen floor just before 8.30pm. Their daughter, Law Ming-shuen, eight, and son, Law Ming-kwong, six, were semi-conscious in a bedroom of the fifth-floor flat in Choi Wah House, Choi Fai Estate. Residents alerted police after smelling gas. The building was evacuated and engineers turned off the gas supply. The woman, who was identified only as Shek, was certified dead in the sitting room. Her husband and children were taken to United Christian Hospital, where the girl was listed as critical and her brother as stable. Police classified the case as murder late last night.
