Public Security Bureau officers yesterday rescued more than 100 adults and children who had been abducted from mainland provinces to make money for crime syndicates in Shenzhen. The adults and children, who were kept in village houses in Shenzhen, were rescued by police in a series of operations last night. Those rescued had reportedly been forced to beg on the street and sell pirated discs and flowers to Shenzhen shoppers. Several alleged syndicate members were arrested. Officers were checking the backgrounds of the rescued people to make arrangements for them to be returned to their home provinces.
