AMONG sporting personalities, not many Hong Kong youths have a favourite, although Posh Spice's husband, Manchester United footballer David Beckham, came out on top among girls (favoured by nine per cent) and Brazilian footballer Ronaldo among boys (15 per cent). Andy Lau Tak-wah and Vicky Zhao Wei are the favourite showbiz talents of the moment, with nine per cent of boys and 11 per cent of girls.
The survey also found 79 per cent of Hong Kong children could correctly name Bill Clinton as the president of the US, while only 52 per cent knew Jiang Zemin is president of China.
The most important event happening in their country when the survey was taken was, for 21 per cent of the respondents, China's entry to World Trade Organisation, while eight per cent said Disney's entry to Hong Kong.
