Foggy weather may have been to blame for two car accidents in Tsuen Wan and Sau Mau Ping yesterday morning that left two men dead and five people injured.
A car driver, 31, was certified dead on arrival at Yan Chai Hospital. His 19-year-old passenger escaped injury.
Police said the car overturned near Route Twisk in Tsuen Wan at about 5am while travelling along Tai Mo Shan Road.
Police believe heavy fog may have caused the crash.
Another fatal crash at 1.15am on Shun On Road, Sau Mau Ping, involved a car carrying three men and a woman, and a taxi with two men, including the driver.
The car driver, 34, died at the scene. Two other people were stable in United Christian Hospital. One was serious, the other critical and the fifth was discharged.
