Four held over detention

POLICE last night charged four men with the false imprisonment of a 39-year-old man in a Sha Tin flat. Police received a report last week from a woman claiming her husband had been detained. Officers immediately laid ambush outside the apartment on Kwong Pui Street on Friday and arrested the men as they were about to enter the flat with the victim. Police said the man had been threatened and assaulted during his imprisonment. The group was allegedly involved in loansharking. One has been charged with criminal intimidation and all will appear in Sha Tin court tomorrow.
