Glamorous actress Flora Chan Wai-shan said she did not mind kissing her acting partners if it made sense as part of the story.

  At the press conference for her new television drama, Appetising Romance, Chan was asked if she would do a kissing scene to boost its ratings.

  'Though I have lived in the United States for years . . . I'm not as open-minded as you think. In fact, I'm quite conservative with love scenes ,' she said.

  Appetising Romance    co-stars include Miriam Yeung Chin- wah and Ng Kai-wah.

   Jacky Cheung Hok-yau will hear the patter of tiny feet this year as his wife May Law Mei- mei has confirmed she is pregnant.

 The baby is due in September.

   Cheung, married to Law for four years, said he was looking forward to fatherhood.

   Singer Ronald Cheng Chung-kei made a comeback to showbusiness after his recent drunken rampage on a Boeing 747.

  Cheng flew to Taiwan from the United States to record his latest Putonghua album.

  He said he was ready to work and he told the press that he apologised to his parents for his behaviour on the flight.

  The Eva Air company decided not to charge Cheng or put his name on its blacklist.

  His ex-girlfriend Miriam Yeung Chin-wah said she was happy to see Cheng turn over a new leaf.

   She wished him success in his return to his singing career.

   Canto-pop diva Kelly Chen Wai-lam declined to respond to a report that a Korean electronic appliance company gave her around $10 million to star in its new TV commercial.

  'I won't tell you the exact figure, but I admit the sum is very impressive,' she said.

  Chen said shooting the commercial was hard work because she had to fly to Korea for the filming. She also had to wear a plastic costume and dance with a hundred dancers for long periods without taking a rest.

  'I think I lost some weight but what I was most worried about was my face breaking out in acne because I ate too many spicy and chilly vegetables there,' she said.
