ALTHOUGH 29 per cent of Allan International's sales are in the United States, the issue of China's Most Favoured Nation trade status is not likely to be a problem.

The company is one of a crop of new listings of small Hongkong industrial companies.

Its core products are household electrical appliances, produced in its plants in China, exported to a diversified customer base.

Allan International also produces precision plastic parts and injection moulds.

It has been able to exploit its low-cost production base in China, while maintaining the quality to supply major international brands.

The company was established as a small producer of plastic products in 1965, but has taken off since relocating to China in 1987. Its production facilities cover more than 600,000 square feet and its employees number more than 1,200.
