Morgan Stanley enters Taiwan

Morgan Stanley Dean Witter has opened a branch in Taiwan. The office will conduct agency equity business for the firm's foreign and local institutional clients through Taiwan's stock and over-the-counter exchanges. 'The Taiwan Stock Exchange has the highest turnover in non-Japan Asia and ranks among the top 10 in the world in terms of market capitalisation,' Morgan Stanley's Asia president Mario Francescotti said.
