AN anonymous fax sent to the Clearwater Bay School has warned parents and teachers to look out for paper ''tattoos'' soaked in LSD bearing cartoon pictures appealing to children.

The fax was sent from Britain, where the hallucinogenic LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) is commonly impregnated in blotting paper with designs indicating the freshness of the drug.

A police source said he had heard of children in some international schools receiving LSD blotting paper in the post from Britain.

''The paper is so small, if someone wants to get hold of it, he just gets his friend to pop it in an airmail envelope and away you go,'' he said.

The source could not say how common the practice was in Hongkong.

The director of the KELY Support Group, Mr Chris Simpson, said that although he had heard of the problem, he did not know how common LSD paper was in the territory.
