Legco election

Election watchdog chief Mr Justice Woo Kwok-hin displays the new guidelines for Legislative Council elections. Mr Justice Woo says people who wish to become members of the Election Committee, which will choose six legislators in September, can register from May 31. More than 170,000 voters are eligible to elect 664 members from 35 sub-sectors on July 9. The elected members will join 96 ex-officio members - consisting of Legco members and National People's Congress local deputies - and 40 members nominated by six bodies from the religious subsector.
