Logo motion Logos may be back, but so is head-to-heel, mono-brand dressing. Hong Kong's signature tai-tai look - the one fashion mavens such as Joyce Ma managed to change - seems to be inching its way back. At a recent party to celebrate the opening of the Vivienne Westwood exhibition in the Landmark, socialites turned up in top-to-toe Westwood, mostly purchased from Seibu. And they're not the only ones: at a party hosted by Chanel in New York, celebs including Kate Moss wore Chanel, Chanel and more Chanel. If you want to embrace the look, remember it's meant to be ironic. Strive for the all-over designer look too seriously and you'll blow it.

Old fashion The other bandwagon onto which everyone seems to be jumping is vintage clothing. Katie Rodriguez, owner of the New York vintage store Resurrection, a branch of which recently opened in Los Angeles, said her Asian customers find it cheaper to fly to the United States to shop rather than buy vintage clothes domestically. (Anyway, they'd be hard-pressed to find a 1960s Pucci in impeccable condition in Hong Kong.) Rodriguez also remarked that her Asian clientele had '... a real affinity for detail. Each piece is picked with great care from the thousands we have in the shop. They [Asian customers] are a big part of our business.' In case any Hong Kong shoppers are heading to the West Coast, this newest addition to the vintage scene is on upper Melrose, near Fred Segal.

Face facts Another well-known fashion brand set to enter the wonderful world of beauty is BCBG Max Azaria. A fortnight ago the company announced it had signed a deal with American giant Unilever Cosmetics International to license a fragrance and beauty collection for international distribution - although there was no mention of a launch date. Unilever also holds the licence for Calvin Klein Cosmetics, Valentino, Cerruti and Lagerfeld.

Truly smelly Those who love Calvin Klein's fragrances will go mad for his latest creation, Truth, which will be unveiled in a few months. What's so special about it? Customers will be able to choose from nature-based scents - such as lilac, vanilla and bamboo - to create their own perfumes. It's going to be a comprehensive line, with bath grains, candles and incense too.
