Five held over phone raids

Four men and a woman believed to be members of an armed gang who robbed four shops and escaped with mobile phones worth $260,000 in Wan Chai and Eastern this month were arrested in a hotel in Java Road, North Point. Detectives seized a mainland-made .22 pistol from a flat in Hing Tung Estate, Shau Kei Wan, where one of the suspects lives. The suspected gang leader is 22 and his alleged accomplices in their teens.
