In The Legend of 1900, the story of an extraordinary musical genius who is overlooked by the world unfolds.
An abandoned baby is named '1900' after being found on January 1, 1900, on board the ship the Virginian by a kind-hearted engine-room mechanic who raises the child.
However, after the mechanic dies in an accident, the captain discovers the young 1900. The boy (played by Tim Roth) has a talent for playing the piano.
He can create wonderful, soulful music and the captain allows him to entertain the passengers.
He gradually gains fame as a legendary jazz musician who has never set foot on land.
The extraordinary thing about 1900 is not his genius but his unwillingness to leave the ship. This insecurity, inconceivable to us, also arouses our curiosity.
