Popsicles go upscale - and adult - at the Mandarin Oriental. No, these aren't pornographic, but they are made from Veuve Cliquot Ponsardin champagne. At $75 each, you won't want your kids to develop a taste for them anyway. These cooling popsicles will be launched on July 1. Each popsicle contains a full glass of champagne, and is flavoured either with peach or cassis. They'll be made daily in limited quantities, and will be available at the Mandarin Cake Shop. The dinner takes place in the Rotisserie, and is $580 plus 10 per cent. On the menu are dishes such as pan-fried pave of salmon with Jacqueline liquor, paired with 98 Laboure-Roi Pouilly Fuisse, roasted loin of veal with tomato and tarragon jus with the 97 Laboure-Roi Gevrey Chambertin, and the 96 Laboure-Roi Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru will be served with braised lamb shank with carrot puree and rosemary essence.
