Sina Hong Kong All-Stars coach Wai Kee-shun was unhappy with the referees despite his team's 97-96 win over the Taiwanese All-Stars last night. Taiwan's American import, Emmett Hall, missed a last-second shot in the Asian Basketball Association League clash at Southorn Stadium as Hong Kong avenged their 98-94 loss to the same side on Saturday. But it was the decision by the refereeing trio prior to Hall's shot that came under fire. With eight seconds to go and Hong Kong leading 97-94, the SAR's own American import, Poncho Hodges, fouled Taiwan's Chen Chih-chung, who sank two free throws to close the gap. 'The referee shouldn't have ruled it a technical foul as that meant they were awarded two free throws plus the right to inbound the ball at our end of the court,' said Wai. 'The Taiwanese player was clearly not attempting a shot, so they should have been given two free throws only. Had it been the case, we wouldn't have been under late pressure.' The NBA Ambassadors overcame China 92-78 in Chengdu, while the Japanese All-Stars beat the South Korean All-Stars 91-80 in Seoul.
