Education reform has turned into a 'top-down political process' with serious consequences for future students, academics warn. Thirty professors and lecturers from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology have formed a forum to monitor progress and address Education Commission. Core forum member and mathematics lecturer Dr Chiang Yik-man said the group was disillusioned with the commission. 'The reform has turned into a mass-appealing political process. The commission has preconceived ideas and does not address key issues of the education system.'
