Speed trio wow fans with their smash-hit solos

A concert centred on the girl group Speed was held in Okinawa Jima, Japan, recently.

Eight groups with 22 singers, all from Okinawa Jima, were invited to perform.

One of the original four members, Hitoe Arakai, had left to study in the United States last month.

However, the other three, Takako Uehara, Hiroko Shimabukuro and Eriko Imai presented the concert but did not sing Speed songs.

The three only sang their solo hits which pleased their fans greatly.

Tomosaka Rie has recently gained weight and her TV film The Things U Taught Me was broadcast recently on TBS TV station. The story was inspired by a famous novel by Donna Williams about an autistic girl.

The film was well-received in Japan, and was praised by Donna Williams.
