Suspected triads in brawl outside massage parlour

Twelve people were arrested and eight hurt in a suspected triad brawl outside a massage parlour in Portland Street, Mongkok. The trouble started when the 30-year-old manager burned a paper offering, to the annoyance of a woman who lived opposite.

Police said the woman's husband, 48, brought in six men, aged between 18 and 39, to confront the manager. Four men, aged 29 to 38, appeared from the massage parlour with knives, bottles and sticks. Five injured men were taken to Kwong Wah Hospital, where one was in serious condition and one stable. Three were taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where two were in serious condition.
