Lai See loves a good mystery.
Which is why we've been contemplating Lo Ka-shui. These days he's best known as chairman of the GEM Listing Committee.
But who is he really ? Where did he come from . . . and what does he know about cardiology or the arts? We ask that because there appear to be conflicting accounts of his education. This we discovered while curled up with a cup of cocoa for our nightly read of the Listing Document for Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing.
Page 82 contains a bio of Lo Ka-shui, who is a director at HKEx.
We are told 'Mr Lo holds . . . a Master of Arts degree from Cornell University'.
Nothing odd about that. Until you look at the Great Eagle annual report for last year. There, 'Dr' Lo Ka-shui is deputy chairman and son of the chairman and founder, Lo Ying-shek.
