Teenagers who have basic skills in football are welcome to enrol in the District Football Teams Training Scheme and Nike All Hong Kong Youth Football Challenge Cup.
A total of 936 youths, 52 from each district, will be selected to form 18 district teams and receive systematic training by veteran coaches.
Training will be provided from October to June 2001 with inter-district competitions. The Nike All Hong Kong Youth Football Challenge Cup competition will be held from March to June 2001.
Through training and inter-district competitions, talented players may be identified and referred to the Hong Kong Football Association (HKFA) for further training.
The scheme is targeted at youths aged between 15 and 17. Fees for successful applicants range from $30 to $60.
Applicants will have to go through skills tests on September 16 and 17.
