Technology investment company Windhorst Asia - a joint venture between locally listed i100 and Berlin-based Windhorst Group - has signed its first two deals in the region. Windhorst Asia has invested in a 50:50 joint venture with German technology firm Authentidate to expand the latter's product in the region. Authentidate's technology verifies when electronic data was created and received to enhance computer security. The joint venture will hold the exclusive non-Japan Asian rights for Authentidate's online authentication technology, expected to be used by brokerages, insurance companies and banks. Windhorst Asia has also signed an agreement with Digital Inter Relay Communications which allows wireless access to the Internet over the last mile to homes and offices.
