Supreme Beings Of Leisure (EEG) 'Basically anyone who has an orgasm likes our music,' band member Rick Torres says enticingly on the notes accompanying this album, refusing to pigeon-hole the US four-piece's musical style. In fact, it's easier to categorise; think Portishead crossed with Sneaker Pimps.

Singer Geri Soriano-Lightwood has a sultry, whimsical voice which is more than reminiscent of Portishead's Beth Gibbons. It actually could be Gibbons singing on Truth From Fiction, a track which also borrows the swirling strings and tip-toeing beat which are a hallmark of the Bristol trip-hop masters. Nothin' Like Tomorrow covers similar terrain. Strangelove Addiction owes more to fellow US mood creators, Sneaker Pimps.

But there are many other influences as well, You're Always The Sun opens with a Daft Punk-esque disco beat and there's subdued jungle rhythms, even bhangra mixed in into the album.

But for all its derivations, SBOL have created a beautifully sublime album.
