The only son of famous actress and director Sylvia Chang Ai- chia was kidnapped  near his school in Kowloon Tong  earlier this month. Chang received a ransom demand for $15 million shortly afterwards.

Yet Chang refused to pay and called the police. Then afterwards, the police successfully arrested three men and rescued nine-year-old Oscar Chang.

Oscar is her only child  from her second husband, now divorced, Billy Wong Ching-hung.

This year's new Miss Hong Kong Vivian Lau is the fourth beauty from Vancouver to win the title. Lau graduated from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver,  also attended by former beauty queens Virginia   Yung Ka-shui and Anne Heung  Hoi-lan.

Margaret Kan Pui-kin and Maree Lau Ka-wai were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

The  concluding episode of popular TVB series War Of The Genders  has set a new record - reaching 44 points on the A C Nielsen ratings. This means more than three million people watched the show.

Stars  Dodo Cheng Yu-ling and Dayo Wong Chi-wah were both excited and sad. Cheng felt  somewhat depressed after watching the ending while Wong hoped to continue the warm ambience on set.

It was rumoured that Christine Ng Wing-mei has been left $150 million from her late ex- husband, accountant Yung Kong-pui, whom she married 10 years ago.

Ng said she may only eventually get less than $10 million.

She said she was already pleased with the lifestyle she and present husband, public relations man Lin Hoi-tong, had.
