Shopping mall raided
POLICE are investigating a series of burglaries in a Tsim Sha Tsui shopping mall yesterday, including raids on a Bruce Lee memorabilia store and 11 other shops.
It is believed the burglar gained access to the Rise Commercial Centre on Granville Circuit - where shops do not usually open until 3pm - through scaffolding erected to prevent concrete from peeling off the outer wall.
The Bruce Lee Shop on the second floor lost $3,500 cash and some videotapes starring the kung fu legend. Staff were checking other stock to determine full losses.
The 200-square-foot store was opened more than two years ago. 'I don't think the robber is a Bruce Lee fan since he also snatched clothes and items from other boutiques,' said a shop assistant.
A total of $21,000 worth of items was stolen from 12 shops.
