Another five contenders signed up for the functional constituency race yesterday, bringing the total to 37. Former Land Development Corporation chief executive Abraham Razack registered for the real estate and construction seat vacated by former Liberal Party vice-chairman Ronald Arculli. Private surgeon Dr Kwok Ka-ki said he was confident of winning the medical seat. Unlike rival Dr Lo Wing-lok, new president of the Medical Association, Dr Kwok said his major support came from professors at universities and doctors in private and public hospitals and dentists. In accountancy, Peter Chan Po-fun came forward in an effort to unseat non-affiliated Eric Li Ka-cheung. Incumbent financial services representative Fung Chi-kin, of the Hong Kong Progressive Alliance, said he would stand again. In the engineering constituency, Dr John Luk Wang-kwong, president of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, submitted his nomination to challenge incumbent Dr Raymond Ho Chung-tai. Ma Fung-kwok, of the New Century Forum, and the Hong Kong Progressive Alliance's David Chu Yu-lin put themselves forward for two of the six seats chosen by the Election Committee.
