Snoopy fails to inspire

A new Snoopy promotion by fast-food chain McDonald's drew a muted response on its first day. For six weeks, restaurants will sell six different models of the plush toys to celebrate Snoopy's 50th anniversary. Each toy costs $20 with any food purchase of $15 or more. In 1998, a month-long McDonald's promotion of Snoopy figurines attracted massive queues.
