The former chairman of Yeebo (International) Holdings was jailed for seven years after embezzling $80 million in a scam the judge said must have shaken confidence in the stock market.

Makie Hui Po-yuen, 46, was found guilty of 23 charges of theft, four of false accounting and two of publishing a false statement, from 1993 to 1995.
