The Government will release the full report into the collapse of Peregrine Investment Holdings to the public, according to Secretary for Financial Services Stephen Ip.
'We will release [it] at the appropriate time,' Mr Ip said.
He did not elaborate.
Mr Ip was speaking in response to a Business Post report three weeks ago that Financial Secretary Donald Tsang Yam-kuen had decided to ban publication of the contents of the HK$10 million report into Hong Kong's largest corporate collapse.
Mr Ip declined to say if the impending publication meant that the Government would not take legal action against parties mentioned in the report.
Any disclosure could constitute a violation of related defendants' rights to a fair trial if the Government took action against related parties, analysts said.
