Albert Yeung's latest addition to his Emperor Hotel in Happy Valley, a bar imaginatively called Pink Mao Mao, got off to a great start with a party held over two nights. The first event was a discreet gathering for publicity-shy tycoons and other wealthy individuals, while a younger, more hip crowd turned up on the second night. The grand-daddy of Canto-pop Roman Tam made a special appearance, along with Joey Yung, Grace Ip and Eason Chan.
With a live band fronted by Daniel La Velle, a huge bar, private rooms and two enormous fish tanks (the pink mao mao is a tropical fish), the bar is sure to be a hit with the smart set who have discovered Happy Valley as an alternative to the Lan Kwai Fong scene.
