Young people should possess lofty ideals, an indomitable spirit and courage in order to achieve everlasting success, said Reverend Lau Tak- kwong, school manager and chairman of the Diocesan Youth Commission. He was speaking at St Teresa Secondary School's 22nd speech day.
Reverend Lau hoped that young people would model themselves on Sister Teresa, patron saint of the school who worked to help the needy.
In her welcome speech, supervisor Sister Esther Ling advised graduates to continually keep themselves updated with the constant stream of new information. 'It is only through life-long learning, the development of one's potential and the making up of one's inadequacies can one survive in this ever-changing world and contribute to society,' said Sister Ling. 'I hope young people will treasure their learning opportunities and make good use of the resources that society has granted them.'
