Chance for students to learn about e-commerce

Secondary school students have a chance to come up with their own e-business proposals for an entrepreneurial competition.

The Millennium Entrepreneurship Programme was organised by Hotung Secondary School and supported by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, King Ling College, Law Ting Pong Secondary School, CCC Fung Leung Kit Memorial Secondary School and the Hong Kong Association of Business Education.

The year-long programme was backed by a $249,000 Quality Education Fund grant.

Project leader Vincent Cheng Wan-suen said: 'In terms of knowledge about information technology (IT), secondary students are as good as adults.

'The spirit of entrepreneur ship should be fostered at their age.'

The programme is open to students from Form Four to Form Seven. Students need to form teams of four to six members and a coaching teacher.

Applications will be accepted beginning September 1. The deadline for applications is October 31.
