Academy for Performing Arts student Aenon Loo Jian-en won the first prize in the Asian Composers League (ACL) Young Composer's Award at the Asia Music Week 2000 Festival in Yokohama, Japan.

His composition, Last Days, was among 10 other pieces composed by young talents from 10 different countries.
All the pieces were performed by professional musicians in the competition concert.
Last Days was composed for clarinet, violin, cello and piano.
The ACL Young Composer's Award started in 1988. Awards for chamber music work by composers under the age of 30 are presented every year.

Mr Loo said the concept behind his composition was based on a passage from the Bible.
