SHOPPING at Hongkong's largest convenience store chain, 7-Eleven, will become even more convenient next month when the chain starts installing laser scanning point-of-sale (POS) systems from Chevalier (data systems).
Chevalier has recently signed a contract with Hongkong Convenience Stores for an initial phase, where 40 of the chain's outlets in Tai Wai, Sha Tin, Tai Po, Fanling and Sheung Shui will be installed with the new system by year-end.
The total cost for equipment and installation in this phase is $4 million.
The remaining 260 stores will get the new scanning system within the next 18 months.
