After completing its merger with Cable & Wireless HKT, Internet company Pacific Century CyberWorks has appointed design group Interband to handle its global corporate identity. Meanwhile, CyberWorks dismissed reports of a possible lapse in talks with Taiwan-based broadband Internet services provider GigaMedia and entertainment content provider ERA Communications on a joint venture. CyberWorks said it would 'accelerate co-operation' with the two companies over its Network of the World service. However, Nasdaq-listed GigaMedia has reversed a May decision to invest US$50 million in a direct stake in ERA.
