THE Lee Gardens Hotel will hold a two-day ''job bazaar'' for its 750 employees who will lose their jobs when the property closes at the end of this month.
Hoteliers expect most of the workers to find positions in the industry.
Lee Gardens official Shirley Ping said the job bazaar, to be held on June 16 and 17 in the function rooms of the hotel, was expected to attract more than 40 hotels and organisations to set up booths to interview the employees.
Ms Ping said management had been inundated with inquiries about staff from government departments and banks when the hotel's closure was announced.
''We are optimistic that most of our staff will be able to find new employers,'' she said.
According to the Hongkong Hotels Association, the industry needs 3,000 more workers. It has urged the Government to allow the industry to import foreign labour.
