You have worked with director Wong Kar-wai many times now. Is it any different from before?
Actually, it is more difficult now to grasp what he wants in his movies. But I can understand that as time passed, he set a higher standard for himself.
Have you ever been in a role which you cannot interpret in his films?
People have this misconception that actors cannot understand what Wong wants. Actually, we all know what we are doing in his movies. He gives clear and detailed guidelines.
Sometimes, he does not know how to tell a story well.
He might shoot many scenes and I know very well what I am doing in each scene, but the scenes cannot tell me what the story is about.
You have years of acting ex perience. Do you think you can shoot a film successfully with out working together with the other actors and actresses?
