Six outstanding students who obtained brilliant results in the Advanced Level Examination won scholarships to study at Cambridge University in Britain.
The six defeated other 30 finalists to win the Prince Philip Scholarships.
Established in 1982, the scholarship offers outstanding students an opportunity to study for undergraduate degrees at Cambridge.
The six were: Donald Tse Man-lap, 18, from Winchester College, Britain; Betty Yee Man- yin, 19, from St Paul's Co-educational College; Herbert Lau Ho- bun, 18, from Tsuen Wan Public Ho Chuen Yiu Memorial College; Fok Shan-yan, 18, from the German Swiss International School; Joyce Wong Wan-man, 19, from Benenden School, Britain; and Issac Fung Chun-hai, 19, from St Paul's College.
Man-lap has studied in Britain since Form Three.
'In Hong Kong, the ratio of teachers to students is one to 40; in the UK, one to 20 is the maximum,' he said.
