One more Olympic Games. That is what Lee Lai-shan is thinking about after she finished sixth in the women's mistral event at the G'day Games in Sydney yesterday.

'If I think I'm still enjoying it, then there is the possibility that I will take part in one more Olympic Games,' said San San. 'I will make the decision before the end of this year as I will have to start training early.'

Retirement has not crossed the mind of Hong Kong's only world-class athlete and winner of the gold medal at the Atlanta Games four years ago. She put up a bold front as she met the Hong Kong media for the first time since competition began a week ago, but was there a hint of anguish beneath her calm composure?

'I am disappointed. There is no point denying that. But I'm trying to stay positive and trying to look ahead. I have learned a lot here,' said the 30-year-old San San, who was taking part in her third Olympics.

She faced the media three hours after the final race had ended - enough time to get her emotions under check and feelings in control.

Great sporting moments are caught in the heat of action. With the boatyard inaccessible to the media, no one really knew what she felt like as soon as it was all over. There were no tears at the loss of her dreams. Maybe they had been shed before.
