PRIZE-WINNING STORYTELLER

Suzanne Wong

E B White was born in Mount Vernon, New York. He graduated from Cornell University in 1921. He travelled about trying many sorts of jobs before finally joining the New Yorker magazine.

In 1970, White received the Laura Ingalls Wilder Award, given every five years for distinguished services to children's literature by the American Library Association.

He died in 1985.
