TINA Turner, whose life story What's Love Got To Do With It? hits the big screen this week, told how she ended years of physical abuse in marriage. Speaking on NBC's Dateline she told host Jane Pauley how she finally snapped when husband Ike hit her once too often. ''I was wearing a brand new Yves St Laurent white suit,'' she said. ''I felt great that day. How dare someone ruin my day. ''He hit me again. And that time I hit him back. It sure felt great. I think my hand bounced, I might have hit so hard - I really gave him a good one,'' she added. Ike hit back and left her face bloodied, but the tide had turned. The movie biography does not gloss over her abuse-filled marriage and details the fateful day in 1976 when she decided she had had enough. The rest of the programme dealt with small talk. ''How old are you in your mind?'' asked Pauley. Turner replied: ''I would have to say early 30s, sometimes. On the stage, I'm ageless - age is not a priority. ''But I'm built strong, I know that.''
