Licensing rules

GOVERNMENT performance pledges will not cover restaurant licensing until a review of the procedure ends, according to the Acting Chief Secretary, Anson Chan Fang On-sang. Mrs Chan said the restaurant licensing procedure, which was under the jurisdiction of the municipal councils, was being reviewed by an inter-departmental working group. Noting that a number of issues had yet to be resolved, she said the performance pledges would not cover the licensing of the restaurants until these were resolved.
